Thomas J. Kemly, President and CEO of Columbia Bank, is pleased to announce that Columbia Bank was again named a "Champion of Good Works" by the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ) at its recent Chairman’s Reception saluting corporate philanthropy.  More than 200 business executives attended the gala reception held at Nanina’s in the Park in Belleville.

Columbia was cited for its volunteer work assisting Wounded Warriors and Veteran Groups throughout New Jersey. During the most recent holiday season, Columbia donated $35,000 to the national Wounded Warrior Project to financially assist their support services.  Columbia also regularly supports local veteran-related causes, including Fair Lawn’s Adopt-a-Soldier-Platoon and the Army-Navy Garrison in National Park.  Team Columbia volunteers also recently participated in a “Tank Pull Competition” to raise additional veterans funds.

"We are extremely pleased to do our part to help our Wounded Warriors and Veterans in New Jersey," Mr. Kemly said. "As a true community bank, Team Columbia remains committed to helping local organizations that make a difference in people’s lives. We are also honored to be recognized as a company that cares about our Wounded Warriors and Veterans!"  Last year alone, Columbia Bank donated over $2 million to NJ charities and completed more than 380 community-based support endeavors.
