Columbia Bank Offers Support To Mortgage Customers

March 30, 2020

Columbia Bank has recently announced a Mortgage Deferral Program for mortgage customers experiencing hardship as a result of Coronavirus (COVID-19). Through the program, borrowers may be eligible to defer mortgage payments for up to three months.

“We are committed to supporting our customers and keeping them in their homes during this difficult time,” said Thomas J. Kemly, President and CEO of Columbia Bank. “Through the mortgage deferral program we can delay payments and allow borrowers more time to get back on their feet, without any impact to their home or credit score.”

To apply for mortgage deferment call (800) 522-4167 and select option 5 or email [email protected]. Applicants should supply a letter describing their hardship and proof of unemployment, layoff, business closure, reduced hours or mandatory absences. Owners of businesses required to be closed should provide a copy of their professional license.

Mortgage deferment is one of many ways Columbia Bank is providing support to those experiencing difficulty. Options for business customers, deposit customers and local non-profits are also available.
