December 20, 2023

News

Columbia Bank is proud to announce the completion of its 5th annual “Week of Giving,” an employee volunteer initiative focused on serving local organizations. Over the course of two weeks, nearly bank employees visited 54 local organizations throughout the state.  During the event, the company asks for 100% employee participation with the goal of expanding its community support each year.

“For nearly 100 years, Columbia Bank has been dedicated to serving its clients and communities through not only competitive banking solutions, but through our commitment to giving back,” said Thomas J. Kemly, President and CEO of Columbia Bank. “Our first Week of Giving was held in 2019, when Columbia Bank acquired Atlantic Stewardship Bank. We wanted our new communities to know that we would continue to be there for them, and our teams loved seeing the strength of our combined impact. Today, we are proud to carry on our tradition, just in time for the holidays and when many organizations need us the most.”

Columbia Bank is proud to announce that efforts spanned across 13 New Jersey counties including, Bergen, Burlington, Camden, Essex, Gloucester, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, and Union. Volunteer projects included preparing and serving hot meals, donating and packing personal hygiene supplies, donating and packaging school supplies, carving turkeys to prepare food bags for Thanksgiving, collecting children's toys and clothing, decorating healthcare service buildings for the holidays, painting homes and rec centers, and assisting with winter crafts for children, seniors, and adults with disabilities, among many other initiatives to fill the need of various charitable organizations. Due to the week’s close proximity to the holidays, Columbia Bank also donated 100 turkeys to those in need.
