Columbia Bank recently held grand opening festivities at its newest branch located at 177 3rd Ave, Paterson, NJ, 07514. On April 26th, Paterson Mayor André Sayegh, community leaders and Columbia Bank representatives welcomed the Paterson community to meet the team, explore promotional offers and enjoy complimentary activities, including a balloon artist and face painting. Also joining in on the fun, was local Paterson food truck, Best Spudz. The Paterson branch is currently welcoming visitors and offering limited-time account specials.

“We recognize that supporting the financial needs of the community is a responsibility that is earned. That is why we work hard to be present and offer residents the benefit of a personal relationship so that critical trust is built,” said Thomas J. Kemly, President and CEO of Columbia Bank. “After many years of supporting the Paterson community through neighboring branches, affordable housing initiatives, and longstanding partnerships with local organizations, we couldn’t be prouder to have our first physical location in Paterson.”

With the opening of the Bank’s 69th branch, local residents can feel confident that nationally recognized customer service, and competitive financial solutions are now more convenient than ever.

As part of Columbia’s community support efforts, the Bank is hosting its “Banking for a Cause” program. For each new checking or savings account opened at the location, $10 will be donated to participating Paterson-based charities/non-profits of the customer’s choice. Furthermore, on May 31, 2025, the donations will be tallied, and Columbia Bank will provide additional funds to the designated local organizations:

  • $1,000 given to the charity that receives the most donations
  • $500 given to the charity with the 2nd most donations
  • $100 given to the remaining charities
