Columbia Bank is proud to announce the successful completion of its 7th annual Week of Giving, an employee volunteer initiative dedicated to supporting communities across New Jersey. Over a two-week period prior to Thanksgiving, Team Columbia volunteered more than 2,000 hours and assisted 51 organizations statewide. As part of this effort, Columbia Bank encourages 100% employee volunteer participation on company time.
“Since 2019, our Week of Giving has served as a powerful support vehicle for organizations across the state,” said Thomas J. Kemly, President and CEO of Columbia Bank. “As the holiday season brings a natural increase in demand for critical services, we’re grateful for the opportunity to come together and lend an extra hand to organizations making such a positive impact in our communities.”
This year’s volunteer efforts reached 11 counties across New Jersey, including Bergen, Burlington, Camden, Essex, Gloucester, Monmouth, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, and Union. Support ranged from preparing and serving meals, collecting winter clothing, to assembling hygiene and school-supply kits, to packing Thanksgiving Day meals. Other highlights included decorating community facilities for the holidays, painting homes and recreation centers, and supporting winter craft activities for children, seniors, and adults with disabilities. Strategically positioned before Thanksgiving, Columbia Bank strengthened efforts through donating more than 100 turkeys to families in need.
