In celebration of Arbor Day, Columbia Bank proudly continued its fifth consecutive year of donating and planting trees across the state, reinforcing the Bank’s long-standing commitment to environmental sustainability and community development. This year, Columbia Bank partnered with local communities to donate and plant 33 trees statewide, contributing to stronger neighborhoods and greener public spaces.
Since launching the initiative five years ago, Columbia Bank has collaborated with municipalities and community partners across its North, Central, and Southern regions to support tree planting efforts that deliver lasting local impact. Through its “Team Columbia” corporate volunteering program, employees rolled up their sleeves to dig and plant trees alongside selected partners.
“At Columbia Bank, giving back means investing in the long-term well-being of the communities we serve,” said Thomas J. Kemly, President and CEO of Columbia Bank. “For the past five years, our Arbor Day plantings have created meaningful opportunities for our employees and community partners to come together, strengthen local environments, and help ensure a more sustainable future.”
Arbor Day celebrates the essential role trees play in our lives, from improving air quality and managing stormwater to cooling neighborhoods and enhancing the places people live and work. This year’s donated trees included a diverse mix of shade and flowering varieties, such as River Birch, Oak species, Red Maple, Linden, Flowering Cherry, Saucer Magnolia, Pink Dogwood, and Tree Lilac. These carefully selected species help support local ecosystems while adding beauty and resilience to community landscapes.
Columbia Bank looks forward to continuing this Arbor Day tradition in the years ahead, furthering its commitment to environmental responsibility and community-focused service.
